FAQ s

1.- Should I put sealants on head gaskets?
No, they must be set “dry”, that means, without any kind of sealant because its constituens affect gasket’s function.

2.-  What does “HS” mean?
Head Set.
This is the engine’s upper part gaskets set; it contains valve cover gaskets, head gaskets, intake, plenum and exhaust manifold gaskets, valve seals, among others.  This set is very useful because, instead of looking for each single pieces (head gasket, manifold, seals, valve cove gaskets, etc.), you have them altogether in one set which means inventory reduction, less time spent and money savings.

3.-  How do you supply DC valve cover gaskets?
DC includes 2 valve cover gaskets per pack for “V” engines.

4.-  How could I know  in which material do valve cover gaskets are manufactured?
Letters at the end of DC number indicate:

  1. “R” for rubber or silicon gasket
  2. “HD” for cork/steel sheet/cork
  3.  Without letter, gasket is cork-rubber.

5.- In head gaskets, what do “T”, “G” and “ML” letters stand for?
“T” stands for Teflon coating.  “G” stands for Graphite.  And “ML” stands for Multi-Layer Steel gaskets.

6.- How can I identify oil seals that are sold by single pieces?
Letters “BS” mean that oil seal is for crankshaft; “TC” is for ignition; and “RE” is for miscellaneous oil seals.

7.- In valve seals, how do I know how many pieces are included?
The “SS” letters indicates that the package contains the exact valve seals quantity engine requires – those could be 8, 12, 16 or 32 pieces depending on the engine’s  valve number.  “SV” letters indicates that the content per bag is in bulk (50 pieces). Visit our valve seals section.
